..news archive v.5..
Last weekend, most of the team traveled to Stone Mountain to scrimmage Emory Crew. The event was successful despite the high winds and choppy water on the usually calm and quiet lake. Some of the men traveled to Indianapolis only to have the regatta cancelled due to high winds and unsafe conditions. But, on their way home, they stopped at Oak Ridge and scrimmaged UNC. So, overall, the weekend was a success, with each boat getting in some sort of a race piece against another team. This has set us on our way to prepare for our biggest regatta yet, the Dad Vail Regatta. Come watch us row in Philadelphia, May 13th & 14th!

The web manager for GT Crew is currently looking for someone to take over their position. You would be responsible for updating the website on a "close-to-daily" basis, adding pictures, links, results, bios, etc. You should be a member of the team as well as fairly familiar with web design & hosting. You may feel free to modify the current website or keep it as it is and continue updating. The position will need to be filled before Fall Season 2005.
Let us know if you're interested. Thanks.

The team would also like to thank our wonderful parents for supplying us with plenty of food over the weekend as well as the surprise help of the Knoxville Georgia Tech Alumni group. They just showed up at the regatta with food and drinks for the team to show their support! What a nice surprise! Thank you.
Next weekend, most of the men's team will head to Indianapolis for another opportunity to race some big teams. The rest of the team will make the much shorter journey to Stone Mountain for a small scrimmage with Emory.
Only 4 weeks until Dad Vails.

We'll be back Friday night - much faster & with tans!
Condos in the background, team in the foreground trying to warm up before the swim test on the pool deck! Looks nice, huh? The boats are right in front of the condo and the lagoon is to the right of the pool. Bring on the warm weather!
Thank you to all of our parents, alumni, and friends who helped with food and lodging in Augusta/Aiken this past weekend. And also a big thank you to everyone helping us as we prepare for spring break. It takes a lot of food, planning, time & money to get this team fed 3x a day for 6 days. THANK YOU!
As soon as the team returns from Panama City, we head up to Lanier Sprints in Gainesville to race on the Olympic Course!! Come watch us - this is the BEST regatta to be a spectator because it comes equipped with grandstands, a finish tower, announcers, and a visible race course!!
Team - we are leaving at 6am from the bus stop Saturday morning. Head right down to the condos and start unloading the trailer. After that is done... it's time for
BAYWATCH OLYMPICS 2005!!!
PLEASE SEND PICTURES TO BE POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE!
03.11.05 - Good luck in the FIRST RACE of the Spring Season. This weekend in Aiken, SC at SERCS. This regatta is hosted by UGA and will be attended by many southern teams we expect to see all season. Because this race is before our Spring Break at the Panama City Training Center, we will really get to see what we've learned since Winter Training and what improvements we'll make at PC. We will race on the Saturday after PC at the Lanier Sprints in Gainesville (March 26th). Wish us luck!
