Become a national champion with GT Crew!

GT Crew has become one of the largest and most successful sport clubs on campus. Competing locally in the Southeast as well as nationally, GT Crew has competed with powerhouse varsity and club programs to become one of the most elite club squads in the country—earning medals at the Dad Vail and American Collegiate Rowing Association national championship regattas for over twelve consecutive years.

Are you an incoming freshman? A current student?

No experience necessary! Our experienced, national-team trained coaches will build you to become national champions as you make lifelong friendships, push yourself to new limits, and represent our school. Sign up to receive more information (on the left), look for us at FASET, and be sure to attend one of our “Meetings for the Curious” at the beginning of each semester.

Hope to see you there!

Meetings for the Curious:

TBA — check back in Summer of 2010.

Are you a high school rower?

We are seeking quality student-athletes to help enhance our team and school and think that you would make a great addition.

Located in Atlanta, Georgia, Georgia Tech has a rich history of excellence in both athletics and academics, offering a wide range of 32 undergraduate majors. Georgia Tech is consistently rated as one of the nation’s best academic values by both Money Magazine and U.S. News and World Report as well as one of the top ten public schools by U.S. News and World Report.

GT Crew offers recruit weekends in both the fall and spring for rowers thinking about attending Georgia Tech. These weekends are a great opportunity to visit campus, stay in the dorms, meet other recruits, see the boathouse, and go to a football game. You cover the cost of transportation to get to Atlanta, and then we cover the rest of the weekend. Come and see if Georgia Tech is a match for you!

Why row for Georgia Tech Crew?

LEADERSHIP: GT Crew is a student run organization, which means that there are plenty of opportunities for you to jump in and be a part of something you work hard for and believe in. It gives you the chance to make decisions and have an impact on and off the water.

COACHES: We have three former National Team members as coaches here at Tech! In addition to these coaches we have five other dedicated coaches that make the rower to coach ratio one of the lowest around!

EQUIPMENT: GT Crew has some of the best equipment in the industry accessible to our rowers. As of 2009, we are the owners of eight 8+‘s, five 4+‘s, four pairs, one double, and eight singles!

ACADEMICS: Having to balance a tough course load with the practice schedule of a committed college athlete isn’t always easy, but your coaches and fellow athletes are dedicated to making that balance attainable at GT Crew by providing a flexible practice schedule and taking a personal interest in your academic success at GT. We believe you are a student-athlete, but always a student first.

FUTURE SUCCESS: The future is looking bright for GT Crew. In the immediate future we are working to regain our national championship in the Men’s Lightweight 8+ and move up in team points at the Dad Vail Regatta, return to the top of the pack at the Head of the Charles, and expand our success at ACRA, SIRA, and other top regattas.

Georgia Tech Crew strives to compete successfully at the highest level while providing the opportunity for all students to grow through dedication, competition, and teamwork.
